The Generous Heart Company was formed by two friends who share a common goal, to bring well-crafted, uncommon, beautifully designed jewelry and gifts that inspire.   

Diane Seay
I grew up in a small town on the Hudson River not far from New York City. Thanks to my Viennese-born father, a great lover of music and art, I was exposed at an early age to the cultural riches of the city. I knew from childhood that I wanted to be an artist. By the time I was a teenager, I was making weekly visits to its numerous museums and galleries and taking painting and drawing classes at the Art Students League under some of the most notable artists of the era. I subsequently attended Pratt Institute as a Fine Arts major.

After meeting my husband, I put my studio aspirations on hold, to travel the world, eventually settling in California, where we raised a family. During that time I launched a jewelry design business, through which I discovered another rewarding avenue of artistic expression. Recently I have been able to devote my full time and energy to pursuing my art and design and, in partnership with Kathy Thompson, formed The Generous Heart Company.

I have always considered myself an artist. But the aim and intent of my art was not always so clear. It wasn't until I had a personal encounter with God that the purpose of my work became evident and I was able to match my abilities and talents with a new vision and purpose. Whether it is painting, drawing or jewelry design, my goal is to connect the natural world with spiritual reality. Through symbols and metaphors, ancient truths and modern concepts, I strive to express the splendor of God, the joy of creativity and the eternal beauty of color, light and form.

My prayer is that, through the offerings of The Generous Heart Company, your life will be as enriched by the gifts of God as mine has been.

Kathy Thompson
I was raised in a small town in Ohio, the American heartland, in a large circle of loving family and friends who provided me with a solid foundation of faith, hard work and self-sacrifice.

I don't think it was by accident that I found my career calling in Human Resources. I was able to use that platform to connect with people, helping them to realize their potential and fulfill their dreams. It has been a tremendously rewarding experience, which has taught me that, for everything I've been given in my life, it's giving back that really matters.

Since leaving the Human Resources field, I've had ample opportunity to put that principle into action. Whether it is through daily encounters with friends and neighbors, or in volunteer work in Third World countries, I have tried to make my life an example of service to others.

With The Generous Heart Company, and in partnership with Diane Seay, I want to take that lifelong goal into a whole new realm. Art can often express what words can't, offering hope and inspiration, joy and love in ways that touch us deeply. A beautiful painting or an elegant piece of jewelry offers a way to give back to those who have meant so much in our own lives.

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” The purpose of The Generous Heart Company is to help make lives that are overflowing with the joy of giving.
